DESCRIPTION

Tabebuia Avellanedae is a tropical evergreen tree up to 30 meters tall, growing in the mountains of South and Central America (up to 1500 meters above sea level) with pink spherical inflorescences. Pau d'Arco (Tabebuia Avellanedae) is also known as La Pacho (Argentina, Paraguay) and Ipe Roxo, Morado (Brazil).
For the production of herbal raw materials, the inner layer of the bark is mainly used, which contains one of the active substances - lapachol. Not all of the active substances in this plant are yet fully known. South American Indians called the tree tajy, which means "to have strength and vigor."
